Realization of Other People
The Faculty of International Liberal Studies, SILS where I teach puts priority on liberal arts to enable students to positively work globally rather than on a specialization. Students can experience the joy of learning and develop themselves in an enjoyable manner. In my education methods, students who have lost their way or sense of purpose can make the move to stimulate theirown minds, draw out their unexploited and potential ability, and thus change them driven by motivation. Placing emphasis on developing “human power” in addition to teaching knowledge is now widely recognized as the “Soetanto Method.” go to link

自ら感じ 悟ることが大事
インドネシア出身で１９７４年に来日し、東工大で工学、東北大で医学、東京理科大で薬学、早大で教育学の博士号を取得。研究領域(りょういき)は多岐(たき)にわたるが、いま最も興味(きょうみ)があるのは「どうしたらやる気になるか」。大学入学が目的だったため、入学後に何をしたらいいかわからなくなる学生たちを多く見てきたからだ。 go to link

Conference Theme: "Brave New World"
This international and interdisciplinary conference will bring together a range of psychologists, medical doctors and a wide assortment of social scientists to discuss outside the traditional confines of narrow fields of specialism, and in new directions of research and discovery. Touching education - Reviving student motivation with the Soetanto Effect
I first came to Japan in 1974 as a university student, and received doctorates in engineering and medicine. Recently I also obtained doctorates in pharmacy and pedagogy.
